About Christina
Photography has always been a passion of mine. I love to capture everything about a moment and often have trouble restraining myself to just a few photos! Digital photography has thankfully saved me many rolls of film (I took 17 rolls on my honeymoon!) and I probably take even more photos than before! Some of the best spontaneous photos I have taken are thanks to the flexibility of digital.
I feel I have a great combination of patience, adaptability and skill. Photographing children and families can be a frustrating time for parents and I try to keep a calm front. Whether it is in the studio or at the beach or park, working with a calm and patient approach to photos delivers the best results.
Many clients have asked if I twilight as a magician when they see their photos. With both in-camera creative angles and a knack for using Photoshop to put multiple photos together, every effort is put forth to try to get the whole family all looking and smiling at one time!
It is always a pleasure and a privilege to be invited to capture a moment in someone’s life and I thoroughly enjoy spending those moments with my clients and giving them memories captured for a lifetime.
About the Business
When designing my business, I thought about what I personally want when I take my family for photographs. I want to know that there isn’t a timer set for a specific length of time; I want a photographer who understands kids, and a relaxed environment where we have room to let them unwind for a minute between poses; I want somewhere that I can feel comfortable with being nude for a maternity or boudoir photo session; I want to own my photographs for reproduction and not be limited to picking 7 sheets and that’s all; I want an affordable photography solution so that I can book frequent photo sessions to capture our growth. I have strived to make my business include all of these things.
In keeping with the digital times, ALL packages include the full unmarked digital negative files, processed for enhancement and ready for printing, framing, gifting, scrapbooking or whatever your desire. Many package options are available offering flexibility for any situation (newborns, quick visits, maternity, etc.) See the services page to find what will work best for you!
About the Studio
I wanted to create a photo studio where a family could come to take photos in a relaxed environment. There are no clocks counting down a strict 20 minute time frame, no sessions booked one on top of another. As a mother myself, I understand that flexibility is needed with photographing children, and that sometimes it will take just a few more minutes to get the right shots with a tired child.
My studio is located in my home in Oshawa, and offers a private and relaxed area to help create lasting memories. It is a warm and carpeted basement area with lots of room. A rocking chair is nearby for feeding infants if needed. Clean shoes ARE allowed on my backdrops and I have multiple colour choices to match your attire.
I have gathered a large collection of props for many different occasions (most holidays are included) and my collection continues to grow. I also have a preschool and kindergarten sized graduation cap and gown sets for those special moments. Any of these can be included in a regular sitting at no extra charge!
Requests are always welcome. If you are looking for something specific, be sure to let me know and I’ll see what I can do!
